LG embarks on new air-conditioning initiatives

LG, air conditioning

This new state-of-the-art training centre of LG at Slough is a key part of the company’s major new initiative in its UK air-conditioning business. At the same time, LG has significantly extended its product warranty and announced comprehensive packages for technical service, spares and support. LG has also introduced three new products (Multi V III, Multi V Water and Multi V Space), which address all aspects of cooling, space heating and hot-water provision.

Nick Ryman, LG UK Air Conditioning and Energy Solutions general manager, says, ‘The development of our new academy demonstrates LG’s continuing commitment to improving and developing installer skills and ensuring reliability and customer satisfaction with our products.’

The academy is equipped with working models of many pieces of equipment, so installers can gain hand-on practical support to support the theory. Training courses are free for up to 20 people at a time, and LG expects to see 350 people honing their skills there every year.

Installations are supported by 3- or 5-year warranties. The contractor will need to have in place a structured, planned preventative maintenance programme for the 5-year period. The 5-year warranty will be for LG approved installers who have attend the company’s technical, installation and service training courses.

Another initiative is the LG approved-installer programme to put more qualified LG installers in the field to commission Multi V systems. Installers will be required to attend appropriate courses and subsequently commissioning two Multi V systems within a 12-month period.

Spares are now guaranteed to be available next day through direct channels or the distributor network.

Finally, the scope of the technical-service department extends from telephone support to on-site assistance.
