Published:  06 January, 2014

John Johnson, managing director of of Wren Electrical Services, says, ‘Becoming a CentraLine Partner was an excellent step for Wren Electrical Services. Access to the latest BMS (building management system) technology is essential to enable us to deliver the best possible solutions to our customers.

‘We address a wide spectrum of applications, both in the process and building control sectors. The CentraLine portfolio headed by the Hawk AX goes a long way to meeting these demands for energy management.’

With over 40 years of experience in energy management, from engineering to sales and marketing, John Johnson brings to his company a deep appreciation that understanding client’s needs is paramount.

His experiences of the rigorous expectations of process control in the food industry and packaging automation gives Wren Electrical Services the capability to fully understand the complex interaction of building systems and its associated equipment. This is critical to ensure the building-management system matches the required performance of the building services whilst delivering maximum efficiency and economy.

Wren Electrical Services has a full BMS delivery capability — including design, engineering and panel building, supported by programing and graphical front-end design. Installations are to the latest IEE regulations, with all panels being electrically and mechanically tested before being shipped to site for installation and commissioning.

Customer handover is very important to Wren. Full on-site training accompanied with a user-friendly guide to the system operation and control panel is provided for each installation.

Focusing on the Hawk has been John Johnson’s key strategy. He has developed his business by ensuring his clients are confident in Wren’s ability to deliver the latest building control and integration solutions.

John Johnson continues, ’The CentraLine Hawk is an essential part of our business. Total flexibility, open protocols and ease of remote connection make it the ideal solution for our clients varied and often demanding requirements.

‘The Hawk and its associated touchscreen display are ideal for standard boiler-house applications; operators really appreciate the clear graphics and straight forward menus.

‘We are also using the Hawk/Lynx combination in a variety of applications — including passive ventilation, underfloor heating and fan coil units.’

Engineering director Ben Johnson emphasises the importance of the Hawk and the Coach AX programming suite: ‘The programming of the Hawk and Lynx is straightforward and extremely adaptable for a wide range of applications. I am particularly impressed with Hawk AX graphics and the opportunities it gives us to ensure the users really get the most out of their BMS.

‘The IT-based approach to control and integration programming is very clear and straightforward for today’s programmers of building controls.

‘The ease of engineering of the remote access and alarming capability of the Hawk AX is excellent. Our clients use smart phones and tablets as a matter of course, and they expect it as a “standard” feature on the building-management systems we deliver.’

Senior account manager Andrew Stokes-Roberts commented, ‘CentraLine by Honeywell has always been keen to involve all sizes of independent system integrators to be a part of our Partner Network. It is an important part of our strategy to spread the availability of Niagara-based Hawk and Coach AX as wide as possible to professional engineering companies.

Wren Electrical Services, a family business, has taken on the Hawk AX as their keystone product. We are impressed with the wide range of applications and installations that have benefited from their engineering commitment and industry experience.’
