Jaga radiators play key role in heating sustainable homes

Helping to cut heating energy consumption by 10% compared with standard steel-panel radiators is the use of Jaga’s Strada radiators and Sani Bow towel radiators in new homes built by Space Group and Arch Homes in Blyth, Northumberland. Each of the four new houses is equipped with renewable technologies to achieve homes that are so sustainable that heating and power costs are included in the rent.

The need to reduce tenants’ energy bills was the main reason for the commissioning of these Spacehus homes.

Strada radiators have Jaga’s Low-H2O heat exchanger, making the radiators low mass and low water content. This makes them highly responsive to temperature change, helping to reduce energy bills compared with standard steel-panel radiators.

Building information modelling (BIM) was used throughout the designing and building of these homes. Jaga provided Revit-compatible BIM files for its products so Space Group could incorporate the radiators into the design early on.

Using BIM, Space Group could virtually build and test every element of the buildings’ performance and construction, with the designed being reinforced with accurate data to help predict its long-term operational performance.
