Remeha Quinta Pro replacement boilers saved Aspire Leisure Centre £7000 in energy costs following their installation six months earlier. The building is Europe’s first integrated training centre for disabled and able-bodied people. Located in the grounds of the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, Middlesex, the centre has a 25 m swimming pool with ramped access for wheelchairs, a fully integrated fitness studio, sports hall, cycling studio, dance studio and a cafe area.

When the nine existing boilers in the pool-side plantroom began to fail, heating contractor PHD Mechanical recommended installing seven Quinta Pro 115 kW boilers to replace them. The main function of the boilers is to heat the water in the swimming pool to a constant 31°C. The boilers were installed in cascade.

The entire move from old to new boilers was completed in one day, enable the centre to be kept open for users. Work included upgrading controls and installing a new building-management system. New flueing was positioned along the outside of the building.
