‘Test-driver’ offer for Trox’s carbon-dioxide cooling system for data centres
Published: July 2006
Trox is offering data centres the opportunity to ‘test drive’ its carbon-dioxide-based cooling technology within existing chilled-water systems. The cost of the trial does not include a profit element, and a percentage of the cost will be refunded against a permanent installation. The AITICs evaluation programmed enable data centres to trial carbon-dioxide cooling and measure the cooling capacity of each cooling unit that is installed on the back of a cabinet to remove up to 30 kW of heat. The trial tests the mounting compatibility of the system with cabinets and airflow compatibility with servers. An important aspect of a trial is to analyse the intrinsic resilience if parts of a system fail. The installation package incorporates CO2OLpac plant into an existing chilled-water system. The programme includes full consultation, site survey, proposal, quotation, installation, commissioning, technician support, thermal and aerodynamic assessment, summary report and conclusion. A system can be installed without interrupting the operation of the data centre. Related articles: |
