Finish for taps destroys bacteria
Published:  August 2006

Pegler offers a finish for its taps and mixers that destroys bacteria on contact. Called Kliniklene, it is described as being as much a part of the products as chromium.

These products are particularly targeted at hospitals and available in the Performa Healthcare selection of taps and mixers.

According to information from Pegler, in tests carried out over 24 hours, all the most common bacteria are virtually eradicated — and certainly sell in excess of the 95% target set by the NHS.

The new finish has been tested with cleaners using a typical cleaning regime, using hypochlorite-based cleaners such as bleach, and retained a high degree of effectiveness.
