The precision operation of replacing hospital plant
Published: August 2006
Round-the-clock working was the order of the day as Weatherite replaced two air-cooled condensers at a hospital on Merseyside. They are mounted on a framework above a plant room housing chillers which serve operating theatres and other departments at Southport & Formby District General Hospital. The new towers had to match the footprint of the existing framework, and their battery fins have a saline-resistant epoxy coating because the hospital is within five miles of the coast. Mike Turton, sales director of Weatherite Building Services, says, ‘We worked against tight deadlines to ensure there were no major disruptions to patient care.’ Related articles: |
