Centralising the control of up to six-fan-coil units
Published:  October 2006

The control of up to six fan-coil units can be brought to a single point using SAV’s commissioning module, which also then requires only a single cable to a building-management system.

SAV’s control commissioning module brings together the control sets for up to six fan-coil units at one point.

Benefits include simplified site wiring, as only one cable is required from the module to a building-management system. Commissioning engineers can also perform a wide range of tasks from a central point.

Manufacturers of fan-coil units will also not need to fit control sets, a task that can be laborious and costly.

These commissioning modules are well suited to variable-speed pumping systems, using 2-port valves — which are ideal for centralised, modular configurations. All water-side and fan-speed controls are housed in the commissioning modules in a box which is only 250 mm deep, so it can be installed in a ceiling or floor void.

Quick-connect plugs link the control modules to the relevant SAV heating and cooling commissioning modules. Only simple wiring is required from the module to each fan-coil unit.
