Gas-fired rooftop air conditioners use R407C

Carrier Air Conditioning has introduced six gas-fired rooftop packaged air conditioners. They use R407C as the refrigerant and are designed to replace products using R22. They can directly replace time-served existing units — fitting into exactly the same space and requiring no new ductwork, pipework, electrical connections or even roof curbs. All units have factory-installed Carrier Pro-Dialog Plus controls. Three models have scroll compressors, and the other three have reciprocating hermetic compressors. All include a thermal cut-out to protect against electrical overload. Cooling capacities range from 43 to 116 kW with heating outputs from 47 to 147 kW. These new units are made from stronger, more weather resistant materials than has previously been the case. Heat exchangers have high levels of protection against corrosion and ultra-violet light. Carrier’s Flying Bird II 2-speed fans are used as standard. They are made of a composite material that can be recyled and have a multi-blade design and rotating shroud. They are exceptionally quiet and do not generate low-frequency noise. Related articles:
