Door curtains
Published: April 2007
The air-curtain industry group of HEVAC has produced a guide to air curtains covering the benefits, applications and requirements of air curtains to assist specifiers during the selection process. The aim of the group is to promote the effective use of air curtains by supplying equipment specifications from which considered decisions can be made. The guide explains how air curtains installed horizontally above a door, vertically beside a door or under the floor with air directed upwards can provide an effective barrier against the ingress of outdoor air. A graph considers the energy effectiveness of air curtains of various qualities — and also illustrates how a poor air curtain can be less energy effective than an open door with no air curtain.
