Nordair Niche helps enhance passenger comfort at Norwich Airport

Energy-efficient heating and ventilation for three areas of the terminal building at Norwich International Airport are provided using Nordair Niche gas-fired units.

As part of the remodelling and extension of the terminal building of Norwich International Airport Nordair-Niche heating systems high-efficiency gas-fired heating and ventilation units have replaced the existing LPHW system, which had virtually reached the end of its life.

Eyres Electrical of Norwich, working with main contractor R. G. Carter, stripped out the existing system and replaced it with three Nordair-Niche units to serve the baggage reclaim area, main concourse and departures lounge.

These heaters qualify for Enhanced Capital Allowances, so the client could offset all of the capital and direct installation cost against corporation tax in the first year.

The units can recover 60 to 70% of heat from exhaust air into the supply air using a plate heat exchanger. Heating requirements are matched by the fully modulating burners.
