Reznor warm-air heating is the key to safe storage in self-storage centre
Published:  July 2007

To provide background heating for the Easistore self-storage centre in Crawley, a Reznor V3 gas-fired warm-air heater is installed on each of the four floors to maintain a temperature of 14 to 17°C with excellent distribution of heat. The heaters are strategically positioned to achieve optimum air distribution around the floor to protect stored items — which can include household contents, business items or, even, a wine cellar — from frost and damp.

Goods are stored in individual steel rooms from 1.8 to 18 m2 in area and 2.4 to 2.7 m high. The largest rooms can store the contents of a 5- or 6-bedroom house.

The heaters work entirely automatically to ensure temperatures never drop below the set point and damp cannot penetrate the building. Modulating burners achieve cost-effective operation.
