To ensure that medicines stored in this rural dispensary in Hampshire are kept below 25°C, a Carrier XPower split air-conditioning system has been installed.

To ensure that the temperature in the dispensary of a GP practice of five doctors at Fordingbridge in Hampshire is kept below 25°C, a Carrier XPower split air-conditioning system has been installed.

The surgery is in a recently refurbished building, and the dispensary is, unavoidably, on a south-facing corner. The heat gain can be enormous, but stored medicines and tablets must be kept below 25°C.

Ian Willis of Domair International, who specified and installed the system, says, ‘The arrier unit does the job brilliantly, and the timer function enables appropriate energy-saving adjustments to be made so that it does not have to run all the time.’

XPower is an inverter-controlled system with an EER of over 3.5. It can provide both heating and cooling.
