Space Airconditioning supplies major chiller order for City project

Space Airconditioning has supplied three Daikin air-cooled liquid chillers for a prestigious office building in St Mary’s Axe in the City of London. The largest has a cooling capacity of 1200 kW and is said to be the first megawatt-plus chiller in the recently extended Daikin range to be installed in the UK. It has a single screw compressor with stepless control, weighs 9310 kg and is some 10 m long. Installing this chiller, made in Rome, required a substantial crane and it was successfully installed at the first attempt, despite wind conditions being close to working limits in the confined space.
