Olympics

Hot water for this Olympic training facility in north London is provided by fast-recovery water heaters from Andrews.

Andrews Water Heaters has kicked off its involvement with the 2012 Olympic Games with the supply of water heaters for the Lee Valley Athletics Centre. This Olympics training facility was opened recently by Tessa Jowell and is at Picketts Lock in Edmonton.

Two Supa-flo R300 series water heaters have an extremely fast heat-recovery rate to meet demand from the wash basins and 12 showers in the female and male changing facilities.

The two Supa-flo R304 water heaters are installed in the main plant room. Each has a nominal output of 140 kW and a recovery rate of 2400 l/h through a temperature rise of 50 K. They were selected by consulting engineers Max Fordham to provide high efficiency at both part and full load.

These water heaters have a blown-gas burner that can modulate down to 20% of full load, stainless-steel heat exchanger and headers.
