NEA chooses Smith’s to heat Lowick community hall
Published: January 2008
Lowick community hall is reaping the benefits of its new air-source heat pump system, which is being used to power Signature and Sterling fan convectors from Smith’s Environmental Products. The renewable-energy product, installed as part of a project organised by National Energy Action (NEA) and funded by ScottishPower brings environmental and economic benefits to the community. Arthur Scott, NEA’s technical manager said: ‘Running fan convectors from Smith’s Environmental Products at Lowick was an obvious choice, because radiators don’t function at the lower water temperature (40°C) produced by the heat pump. Underfloor heating was another option, but that’s unsuitable for existing buildings and just not as energy efficient as fan convectors.’ For more information on this story, click here:Jan 08,205 Related articles: |
