Chloride helps DVLA operations stay on the road

Chloride Power Protection has provided critical back-up protection for the two new data centres of the Driver & Vehicle Licensing Agency in Swansea. The work was commissioned by M&E contractor Lorne Stewart. Three 500 kVA UPS modules have been installed in the first new data centre on the site of DVLA’s headquarters. Working in modular parallel redundant mode, they have 20 minute batteries to match the load requirements and interface with the existing systems. The second new data centre has the same 500 kVA UPS units and a new 2.5 MVA prime-rated diesel generator system complete with 24 000 l bunded bulk fuel tank. Because of space restrictions, this system has been custom designed to fit into a 12 m enclosure.
