CS completes Grade 1 controls upgrade for listed residential building

The control system of Bridgewater House in London has been upgraded by Integrated Control Systems.

Integrated Control Systems has completed the upgrading of the control system at Bridgewater House in London with the most modern equipment available.

This Grade 1 listed building dates from the middle of the 19th century and is a private resident overlooking Green Park.

A Tridium BMS head-on supervisor system was installed to monitor and control plant fed from seven motor-control centres to help the in-house facilities-management team increase the energy efficiency of the plant.

Some 250 fan-coil units in bedroom, dining rooms, halls, corridors etc. currently operate on a stand-alone basis. However, it is envisaged that the control of these units may be upgraded in the future.

Ray Dwight of ICS explains, ‘As specialists in this type of upgrade work, we reuse as many existing components as possible. In this instance, we decided it was not necessary to replace control panels and wiring, substantially reducing the cost of the project. As the contract was limited to the main plant control systems, we were not required to work within the staterooms of the house itself.’
