Trox trebles throughput of fan-coil test area

Published:  11 August, 2009

Trox has rebuilt its fan-coil test cell to treble throughput.

Trox has totally rebuilt the test cell for fan coils in its technical centre in response to the massive demands for research and development into fan-coil systems. Barry Trewhitt, product manager, explains that the new test area can handle at least three conditions or separate set ups a day and test them under stable conditions — a trebling of capacity.

There are three main reasons for the investment.

One is the need to measure energy savings accurately as in the case of VAV fan-coil development work.

The second is to verify performance data on a project-by-project basis.

The third is to enable further product research to be undertaken.

This dedicated fan-coil laboratory is said to be the only one in the UK that is certified by BSRIA and that can perform these tests in stable pre-determined conditions.
