Plumbing Academy installs rainwater harvesting system
Published: May 2010
The Plumbing Academy in Edenbridge claims to have become the first training centre in the UK to have a fully functioning rainwater harvesting system, following the installation of a 3000 l Envireau from Kingspan Environmental. All water for training at the academy is now supplied by the system — up to 250,000 l a year. Stewart Edwards, chief executive at the academy, says, ‘Having a rainwater harvesting system provides a fantastic learning tool for the academy’s trainees, who will need to be fully versed in renewable and sustainable energy technologies.
