CA Group delivers energy savings to Royal Mail

Renewable energy for the new Royal Mail distribution hub in Swan Valley, Northamptonshire, is provide by 800 m2 of SolarWall from CA Group. It helps the building reduce its operational carbon emissions by 66% and contributes to a total of 59 t of CO2 savings a year. SolarWall is a perforated transpired solar collected that uses solar energy to deliver warmed fresh air into the building. The building has achieved a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating, with a score of 76.76%. It also has a A-rated Energy Performance Certificate, representing a CO2 index of 21. The building was designed and developed by Pro-Logis to function passively with the most energy-efficient plant available specified for essential energy use.
