Lowara’s range of stainless-steel vertical multi-stage pumps has been enlarged to 11 models with the introduction of the e-SV models. The range can deliver flows up to 160 m3/s with a maximum head of 265 m. The new range achieves a 10% better hydraulic efficiency than the previous models, with even better performance achievable using energy-efficient motors with speed control (pictured). There is no price premium.

Thee new pumps are directly interchangeable with the old SV range and pumps of other manufacturers.

The improvement in hydraulic efficiency is due to an improved shape for the impeller with finer welds.

A top-fill plug with air vent is available for all models, with a second air vent for the eight largest models.

The life of the motor bearing has been increased from 10 000 h to 17 500 h by an impeller design that reduces the thrust on the bearing by 40%. Maintenance work can be carried out without having to remove the motor. The mechanical seal can be replaced without having to disassemble the pump, and the O-ring seat is designed to enable easy disassembly of the outer sleeve.

Chris Jamieson, VP, global marketing, ITT residential and commercial water, says, ‘We designed the new e-SV line to be the most energy-efficient pump in its class, as well as easy to install and economical to maintain, enabling lower operational and lifecycle costs.’
