SES apprentice wins regional acclaim
Published: March 2011
An apprentice with SES has been named north-east mechanical apprentice of the year at the recent HVCA awards. Matthew Bennett, 27, is currently gaining hands-on experience as part of the SES team on the Ł20 million South Shields Community College project. The panel of judges was impressed by the recommendations given to him demonstrating his skill and commitment to his apprenticeship. Steve Joyce, operations director with SES, comments, ‘I am absolutely delighted for Matthew. He has worked extremely hard, having been supported throughout his training by SES, and certainly deserves this recognition. ‘We make a significant investment in our apprentices, and, thanks to the variety of projects we work on, they have the opportunity to experience working on live sites to support their classroom learning. I strongly believe that this is reflected by the high calibre of our trainees who go on to become fully qualified engineers.’ Related articles: |
