Odour problems from a motor-body repairer have been overcome using Jasun Filtration’s Adcell system.

Willmott Motorbody Repairs has resolved the problem of complying with the Environmental Protection Act 1990 by installing an odour-filtration system based on Jasun Filtration’s Adcell system.

The company was under pressure from the local council to resolve odour nuisance caused by paint fumes and volatile organic carbons from its Burntwood spray booth/oven. Despite having installed a deep-bed carbon filtration system, the company still received visits from the council as neighbours complained about the paint odour.

Looking at a means of resolving the problem, Clive Willmott installed Jasun Filtration’s formulated filters systems for removing odours and chemicals Such has been the success of the refillable Adcells that he has recommended the product to a company specialising in resolving air-pollution problems for vehicle-body repairers.

Clive Willmott explains, ‘When using a spray booth/oven, the Environmental Protection Act requires the ventilation ducts to be 3 m above the ridge of any building within a radius of 15 m. However, even though the spray-oven complies to this rule, the roofline is level with neighbours’ gardens, and odour from the oven was causing a nuisance.’

Adcells are available in capacities from 277 to 1700 m3/h. Banks of cells can be built up to accommodate any air volume and can easily be recharged with new granules.
