Over 1400 m of perimeter heating has been supplied by HCP for the new Terminal 2 at Dublin Airport.

HCP has supplied a range of perimeter heating and air-handling grilles for the new Terminal 2 at Dublin Airport. Over 1400 m of floor-mounted straight and curved perimeter heaters with double heating elements has been installed. They are encased in stainless-steel metal casings with a horizontal brushed finish to meet aesthetic requirements. A mock-up of the units was prepared with Mercury Engineering Dublin.

Flat-top and sloping top grilles with 20° angles help prevent the surface being used for discarding rubbish.

HCP designed solutions with additional straps incorporating a shelf along the panels to take the weight of the grille if people sit on it.

Perimeter heating can be used to combat cold down draughts and condensation that are often found at glazed elevations. 300 m of heaters were installed at height on a transom on the front glass façade of the airport to help offset heat loss/transfer from the glazing.
