Kingspan adds to large-scale solar-thermal offering
Published: February 2012
Kingspan Renewables has strengthened its range of renewable-energy solutions for the commercial and industrial sectors with the introduction of solar-loading stations and fresh-water modules. The solar-loading stations (pictured) are designed to enable the quick and easy connection of medium- to large-scale solar-thermal arrays to thermal stores. The range of fresh-water stations provides for the efficient production of large volumes of domestic hot water. These custom-designed solutions are available as integrated packages with all the major components for the primary solar-loading circuit and secondary charging circuit. The package includes integrated controls with sensors and additional outputs for user configuration. Solar-loading modules are available for collector arrays from 50 to 450 m2. The module and primary buffer is pre-plumbed, wired and engineered. Intelligent controls optimise efficiency and eliminate losses from the panels. Managing heat transfer decreases the issues of scaling in the heat exchangers, reducing maintenance costs. The fresh-water modules produce large volumes of hot water from thermal store, with flows from 100 to 350 l/min. Industrial-grade components provide a long maintenance-free life, and preconfigured electronic controls ensure user-friendly operation.
