Fire-safety system reduces installation and cabling costs
Halton’s Safe control system for ventilation fire-safety solutions is said to have lower-than-expected installation and cabling costs. The system can control the operation of up to 200 fire and smoke dampers and 200 smoke detectors. The central unit can be modularly extended with Safe Link control units — to which fire dampers and smoke detectors are connected in groups of one to four units.
Fire dampers and smoke detectors can be clustered into up to 15 groups, enabling the system to respond to a fire alarm by closing only those dampers that are in the fire compartment.
The system provides for the weekly automatic testing of fire and smoke dampers as required by the many national regulations. A report on the tests carried out is produced, indicating the functionality of each fire damper.
The system comes with a 5.7 in graphical touchscreen. Optionally, it can be equipped with a remote connection that makes all functions available via a web browser.
