Heat pump adds to low-carbon credentials of Irish Heritage Centre
Contributing to a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating for the Irish World Heritage Centre in Manchester is a Mitsubishi Electric air-source heat pump capable of delivering 43 kW of heat at -3°C ambient. Almost 70% of the output is renewable energy. The centre tells the story of many Irish emigrants now scattered over the globe, including 22 US presidents.
Willmott Dixon built the centre and designed the heating system in collaboration with renewable specialist A&B Engineering from Liverpool. It uses an Ecodan CAHV heat pump.
