Hudevad Plan exhibits its cultural assets

Design meets style with the installation of Hudevad Plan radiators in hotel accommodation in Denmark.

To complement the overall design of a new hotel wing for the Norre Vosburg Manor historic cultural centre on Denmark’s North Sea Coast, Hudevad Plan radiators have been installed throughout. The hotel wing was built at the same time as the manor buildings were totally and sympathetically refurbished; fairy-tale writer Hans Christian Andersen once stayed there.

Architect Arkitema of Aarhus was commissioned to design the hotel wing to blend seamlessly with historic farm buildings on the site. It matches the existing buildings on the site by using sympathetic materials such as untreated quarter-sawn Siberian larch for the roof and cladding the walls in coted Norwegian spruce.

Thomas Carstens of Arkitema observes, ‘Hudevad Plan is very neutral with clean and elegant lines. For me it’s important that it has a discreet look so it doesn’t intrude needlessly into the room.’

Plan radiators are made from steel plate with a smooth, rebated front plate with closed ends and pressed-steel vertical waterways. There are no clip-on grilles or side panels to spoil the clean lines and also no visible spigots or valves.
