Sontay dives into swimming pool project

BMS, BEMS, controls, Sontay, wireless sensor
Sontay wireless sensors have been added to the existing BMS of Tollcross International Swimming Centre in Glasgow.

The refurbishment of Tollcross International Swimming Centre in Glasgow includes a building control system incorporating Sontay’s SonNet wireless sensing technology. The existing Schneider BMS incorporated the new Sontay sensors perfectly and enabled them to be monitored remotely. Extra seating has been added to one end of the venue, with the SonNet system now measuring temperature and humidity across the swimming-pool area.

The installation was carried out by MCE Scotland. Gordon Hillhouse, project engineering with the company, says, ‘This is the first time we have used the Sontay SonNet system on a project. We were originally interested in SonNet for another development, and when I was involved in the detailed site survey provided by Sontay, I realised this would be the perfect solution for this swimming centre.’

Sontay’s field representative carried out a detailed site survey to prove the equipment would work correctly prior to installation. The project includes multiple sensors, each measuring internal temperature and humidity.
