JS Wright staff become heat network consultants

Four engineers from building-services contractor JS Wright have received accreditation from CIBSE as heat-network consultants. They passed an examination on the CIBSE code of practice for heat networks in the UK, jointly developed by CIBSE and the Association for Decentralised Energy.

Associate design director David Cook, associate contracts director Matt Coy, design manager Dave Bradbury and senior design engineer Thomas Hollywood (pictured right to left) proved to the assessors that J S Wright has the skills to meet the code’s high standards for the design, installation and commissioning of district heating networks.

The code of practice aims to ensure that all district-heating systems — those in which low-carbon heat for developments comes from CHP plants or recovered waste heat — are delivered in a low-cost and secure manner in order to reduce carbon emissions, fossil fuel dependence and fuel poverty.

Managing director Marcus Aniol, said: ‘With the delivery of renewable-energy systems a key area of focus in our residential work, this accreditation reinforces our position at the forefront of heat network design and installation
