Toshiba opens VRF training centre in UK

This Toshiba training centre for VRF equipment at Plymouth is the first to be established by the company outside of Japan.
Toshiba Air Conditioning has opened its first-hands-on customer-training centre for VRF air conditioning outside of Japan. It is on the Belliver Industrial Estate in Plymouth, where the warehousing distribution and parts stock management for Toshiba Carrier UK are now co-located. The centre will be used by Toshiba’s distributors to train their engineers. It is also available to any other customers wanting to book time or a course. Teams of engineers will visit from all over Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The design and layout of the centre is based on the facility in Japan. There is seating for about 50 engineers or enough space for teams of engineers to work on hands-on projects on the various pieces of fully functioning equipment in the large training area. Equipment already installed includes SMMS, SHRM VRF and the new Daiseikai split systems. There is also a variety of choices of indoor units, such as ducted and cassette units. UK training is managed for customers in the north by Peter Bradley (peter.bradley@toshiba-aircon.co.uk) and for customers in the south by Richard Parvin (richard.parvin@carrier.utc.com).
