M&E consultant appointed for the Cube in Birmingham

M&E consultancy services for The Cube in Birmingham are being provided by Hoare Lea
Hoare Lea has been appointed M&E consulting engineer for The Cube, the final phase of The Mailbox mixed-use development in Birmingham. The appointment was made by Birmingham Development Company, and the practice will also provide advice on acoustics, BREEAM, lift engineering, specialist lighting and sustainability. Designed by MAKE architects, The Cube has a value of over £100 million. The atrium will twist as it climbs the 17 storeys of this 42 000 m2 building and be lined with coloured glass. It will include a rooftop restaurant, boutique, hotel, residential apartments and office space. Work is due to start in Spring 2006 for completion in 2008.
