Monodraught’s Heat-Harvester can be used in commercial and industrial buildings to return warm air from high level to low level. It has the potential to halve heating costs.
Reductions in heating costs of up to half for large buildings and tall spaces are claimed for Monodraught’s Heat-Harvester. Installed at high level, these devices draw in accumulated hot air from above and direct it downwards. There are three models catering for ceiling heights of up to 5, 8 and 12 m. Motor powers are, respectively, 25, 35 and 75 W — so they use less than 25 p of electricity per day. The Heat-Harvester was originally developed in the USA and has been used in over 2000 installations. Because they deliver a powerful jet of air, the warm air being recirculated can be directed downwards at an angle, rather than just vertically. Only a single-point fixing is required, and Heat-Harvesters should be spaced 8 to 10 m apart. While primarily an industrial product, Heat Harvester is also available for installation in a suspended ceiling. The powerful action of the Heat-Harvester draws warm air from below the ceiling through a grille and into the ceiling void so that it can be directed down to low level.
