Titon provides rounded ventilation solution for Manchester flats

Titon
Internal bathrooms and bedrooms in the residential development in Manchester have their ventilation requirements met by Titon whole-house central-extract units.
Whole-house central-extract ventilation units have been supplied by Titon for 42 apartments in an exclusive circular building in Hulme, Manchester. Titon’s MVS8 central mechanical extract unit was chosen to provide a simple method of ventilating the internal bedroom and bathroom in each apartment using an unmodified standard product. Each apartment needs extract ventilation from the wet rooms and at least four air changes an hour in the bedroom. The building is the second phase of the Life Buildings in Manchester’s bohemian Hulme area. Each apartment has a balcony off the main living space, and the main living room has a striking curved wall with floor-to-ceiling windows to maximise natural light. Robert Graham, sales manager with Titon, says, ‘We are always looking for simple solutions to tricky problems. With the addition of a short length of ducting, the MVS8 was perfect for the Life Buildings. It was also very satisfying to comply so easily with the new requirements of Part F.’ This ventilation system is suitable for continuous operation and has a control option that includes simple 3-speed switching. The low-noise centrifugal fan has an energy-efficient external-rotor motor.
