Contractor IEI of Basingstoke specified around 400 ALE luminaires for this project. In open-plan areas, they are connected end to end, with dummy modules to form a continuous architectural feature. The range includes accessories that facilitate the creation of lighting runs and shapes to fit in with individual requirements. ALE luminaires are also used in cellular offices.
Silverstone Innovation Centre is a joint venture between the owners of the British Racing Drivers Club, which owns Silverstone, and the East Midlands Development Agency. Designed to provide a serviced environment for engineering and businesses related to motor sport, it is a high-specification office space laid out over three floors, with conference and meeting rooms for external hire.
ALE luminaires provide an easy method of varying the ratio of direct to indirect light. The open aperture in the top can be fitted with snap-in covers to vary the ratio of upward light from 10 to 30%, as well as the standard 50%.
