Vent-Axia teams up with Samsung to develop air-conditioning market

Ventilation manufacturer Vent-Axia has positioned itself to become a major player in the UK air-conditioning market by forming an alliance with air-conditioning manufacturer Samsung. Vent-Axia gains access to one of the most comprehensive ranges of air-conditioning products in Europe, and Samsung will benefit from Vent-Axia’s significant sales force. New literature has been prepared for the commercial and residential markets, with both catalogues exceeding 40 pages. The initiative will be marketed under a dual brand, with the full support of Samsung’s technical and service support facilities — led by Vent-Axia providing the sales and marketing strategy through its recently created project division. Vent-Axia will also provide logistics, distribution, technical and application support from its facilities in Nottingham and Dudley. The main thrust of the marketing campaign will be the sophisticated VRF systems, including the R410A version of the DVM (digital variable multi) VRF system. Vent-Axia staff attended the recent launch of the DVM range at the Samsung training school in Milan and were also trained in the product. Steve Rees, general manager of Samsung air-conditioner division, says, ‘Our agreement with Vent-Axia is a true alliance because we will be integrating our sales and technical-support systems and working together to develop the business. ‘The rapid growth in the range of products we are bringing to the UK means we have an urgent need to increase our sales and distribution capacity, so to be able to do this in partnership with a company that has such an impressive industry pedigree is extremely exciting and complements our existing sales-channel partners.’ Paul Kilburn, business director with Vent-Axia, is equally enthusiastic. ‘This is a fantastic opportunity for Vent-Axia. Given the continued focus on energy efficiency and the energy benefits available through combining good air quality with air cooling, it is a natural progression for us to move into air conditioning. To be able to do that in alliance with such a leading global brand is a huge bonus.
