The building was formerly a single headquarters with its own canteen and other facilities.
Mellersh & Harding, the project manager and M&E consultant, chose Macair FMI to install three Toshiba SHRM VRF R410A systems per floor to provide 661 kW of heating and 588 kW of cooling for the building.
The overall installation uses 22 modular condensing units and has a control system that allows the building to be split into different occupation zones.
Air is distributed via ducted ceiling units, and tempered fresh air is provided to current occupation standards using Toshiba integrated fresh-air units. Swirl diffusers provide even air distribution without draughts.
The former canteen area is now office space, with the outdoor plant just outside it. However, the SHRM units operate very quietly and take up no more space than the old plant, despite delivering considerably more heating and cooling.
