Football supporters visiting Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium are enjoying the protection of a static-inverter based emergency lighting system supplied by Cooper Lighting & Security. With crowd safety being of paramount concern in the design of the new stadium, a reliable, high-quality emergency lighting system was essential to ensure that people would be able to leave safely in the event of a mains-power failure. A central-battery system was the most practical and economic solution for powering the emergency lighting, and after competitive Tender Cooper Lighting & Security was chosen to supply a system comprising 42 Menvier static inverters of various sizes to provide 320V AC sinusoidal output in the event of mains failure
