Haden Young’s project partners, suppliers, customers and staff from across the country sponsored David Beck to work on the tools at the project. The initial target of £10 000 was passed within two weeks, and the final total will help provide high-quality nursing to terminally ill people, giving them the choice of dying at home supported by their families.
David says, ‘I had a great time going back to the shop floor. It was a fun and unusual way to raise money for a fantastic cause, but also reminded me what an excellent job my staff do.
‘Many of Haden Young’s suppliers and partners made extremely generous donations. The construction industry can be really proud of the way people have rallied round in support.
‘I would also like to thank the Birmingham New Hospital team, especially my “boss” and workmates for the period. I hope they enjoyed the experience as much as I did.’
