Armstrong adds to commissioning range
Published:  June 2008

Armstrong has extended its range of commissioning valves and now offers easy-to-use valves from DN15 to DN300. The additions to the ARMflo CBV-G range are of ductile iron in sizes from DN65 to DN300. The multi-turn micrometer-style handle enables precise adjustment to design flow rates with a high degree of reliability.

These variable-orifice double-regulating valves have grooved connections. The Y pattern globe valve design reduces turbulence and sensitivity compared to low-end butterfly valves. An adapter can be fitted to one or both ends if a flanged connection is required. The split-case design of the body enables these valves to be quickly converted from straight to 90° elbow configuration using standard tools and without additional parts. This feature is particularly important in tight spaces where it is necessary to redirect piping.

When variable-orifice flow measurement is acceptable, the stable pressure drop across the valve seat and Armstrong’s performance curves ensure that flow determination is reliable and affordable. Where high-accuracy flow measurement is required, an AFO-G flowmeter can be close coupled or remotely monitored to achieve accuracies of ±1%.

Accessories include the compact DPM-100 digital manometer to simplify the measurement of differential pressure. The ARMflo balancing slide rule and performance curves enable the engineer to adjust the valve to produce a differential pressure reading that corresponds to the required flow.
