The new owners wanted to refresh the hotel interiors, but were limited by lack of space in some rooms. Keith Burch, partner and projects manager with Crescent Projects says, ‘The client requested low-maintenance bathrooms that would be easy to clean and wouldn’t required frequent decorating. We recognised bathroom pods as a cost-effective and time-saving solution.’
Because this was a refurbishment project, the pods could not be craned into place, a limitation that Baudet was able to overcome.
Once delivered, the pods were dismantled, carried into place and reassembled. A few connections completed the installation.
Three models were used to fit different room sizes. All pods were upgraded to include chrome accessories for a luxury finish and came complete with fixtures such as mirrors, towel rails and shaver sockets.
Keith Burch says, ‘The bathroom pods have a similar appearance to conventional bathrooms, yet are much quicker to install. The hotel has had excellent feedback from guests, and housekeeping has commented how easy they are to keep clean.’
