In response to the growing use of KNX-based networks, Wieland Electric has launched the Gesis KNX Series. These devices can be used with Wieland’s comprehensive range of KNX-compatible devices, which includes presence and motion detectors, room thermostat actuators, pushbutton interfaces and actuators for fan-coils. All are connected using TP1 twisted-pair cable. The Gesis KNX Series also allows Gesis EIB devices to be connected to a KNX building bus. EnOcean sensors can also be integrated into KNX networks using Gesis EIB V Series interfaces. There is also a USB interface for connecting to a PC and an IP router, as well as a KNX-based DALI gateway for lighting control. KNX network topology is arranged in lines and ranges. Each line can connect 64 devices. 15 lines can be incorporated into a range, and up to 15 ranges can be coupled together to form a system. The system can be networked via Ethernet TCP/IP so it is accessible through intranets and the Internet.
