Panasonic boosts efficiency of Urban Multi air conditioning

pansonic
Panasonic has expanded its VRF Inverter Urban Multi 4 range of air-conditioning products with the launch of ME4 heat-recovery systems from 8 to 48 hp. The ME4 range has the same improved compressors, fans and controls that are fitted to the MX4 heat-pump range. Also new is a 3-phase version of the Mini UM range of 4 to 6 hp units. The ME4 heat-recovery range is 14% more efficient on average than the earlier ME3 series. Individual units can be 20% more efficient. A single outdoor unit can now drive 64 indoor units, compared with 48 before, and uses 10% less refrigerant. The ME4 range has COPs of up to 4.4 and EER of up to 4.2. The length of pipe runs has been increased from 300 m to 1000 m. Refrigerant pipe runs between indoor and outdoor units can be up to 165 m. The horizontal distance between first and last indoor units has been increased by 40 m and the vertical distance from 50 to 90 m. DC motors included for the first time across the entire range are at least 40% more efficient than conventional AC motors, especially at slow speeds.
