The ACU is a universal interface that connect any security alarm panel to the Universe+ range of wireless devices — such as PIRs, contact switches and break-glass sensors. Any existing hard-wired security system can be expanded without the need to install additional cable, no matter what make of control panel is used.
The hotel used 16 ACUs to interface over 50 new wireless devices to the existing security system. Each device can be fitted in less than 10 minutes, so room occupancy is not affected. The upgrade was completed without having to take the existing security system off line and install cable between the security devices and the ACUs.
