Published:  April 2009
Dimplex

Dimplex offers a wide range of heat pumps for commercial and domestic projects and using air, ground or water as the heat source.

Dimplex offers a wide range of heat pumps, including ground, air and water source, and has 30 years’ experience of heat pumps in Europe and the UK.

Projects using Dimplex heat pumps include domestic installations for social-housing providers through to ‘dream home’ private self builders. Dimplex heat pumps have also been installed in public and commercial buildings, including schools, visitor centres and retail parks.

At the end of 2006, Dimplex was appointed as one of only three approved suppliers of ground-source heat pumps under Phase 2 of the BERR’s low-carbon buildings programme, which awards grants of up to 50% off the installation and purchase cost for public-sector and not-for-profit organisations.

There are over 50 models, some with features such as different water temperatures for different zones. Recent models include ground-source heat pumps with floor temperatures up to 70°C. There are also high-capacity reversible models with outputs of up to 75 kW. A new air-source domestic unit has a COP of up to 4.1. Another new model has an output of 40 kW at up to 58°C.

Dimplex has a national network of approved installer partners and an accredited installer programme aimed at heating and plumbing installers wanting to diversify into this market.
