Luxo helps make light work of shopping at Waitrose

Luxo
Contributing to the new look of Waitrose at Kenilworth is the Luxo lighting installation.

Luxo is helping Waitrose achieve a new look for its Kenilworth with a change from linear fluorescent luminaires to modular 600 mm-square fittings. Working on a brief to achieve the look of a dropped ceiling and liaising with Waitrose’s engineering manager Toby Marlow, Luxo came up with a design based on Modul 600 luminaires interspersed with Minitravel recessed downlighters.

The Travel range uses horizontally mounted lamps to provide a more compact luminaire with greatly improved photometric performance. Its specially designed reflector provides up 86% efficiency and downward light output.

Modul 600 is a low-glare luminaire with high efficiency and shallow installation depth for recessing into ventilation or unventilated ceilings.

Kenilworth is Waitrose’s first purpose-built Mark V branch.

In addition to the main store lighting, Luxo supplied bulkheads for the areas around the delicatessen, meat and fish counters.
