Radiant heating panels also absorb noise in tank museum

Radiant ceiling panels have been supplied by Zehnder to heat the redeveloped Bovington Tank Museum in Dorset. The £16 million 5000 m2 extension houses a new display hall, reception, gift shop, visitor facilities and restaurant. This museum holds the finest and most historically significant collection of tanks in the world. A key consideration in the choice of heating system was the acoustics of the display hall, given the huge volume of metal on show. Zehnder Flatline panels were fitted with an optional perforated finish, which meets the DIN EN ISO 354 standard for the absorption of sound in a reverberation room. This finish, and the silent operation of the panels, minimises noise reverberation from the metal tanks. The Flatline radiant-heating panels only heat objects in the room, removing any potential risk of condensation and offering the tanks protection against corrosion.
