The replacement of an R22 fan-coil air-conditioning systems with an R410A system in the London office building was accomplished by Cold Control.

The complex replacement of R22 VRF air-conditioning systems with 410A systems as part of a large refurbishment contract for part of a building on Shepherds Bush Road in London was carried out by Cold Control. Each open-plan office area was heated and cooled by 40 Mitsubishi floor-standing chassis-type fan-coil units. They were replaced with Mitsubishi units.

The new units were re-piped back to the roof, where the replacement condensing units were installed. Each new unit has a controller, and there is a centralised controller on each floor.

Cold Control organised and co-ordinated a 4-hour closure of Shepherds Bush Road to allow the roof units to be craned into place with business continuity for occupants on the fourth floor of the building.

Cold Control installed the riser pipework to the roof plant area through occupied offices on the fourth floor within a restricted timescale and project managed the transition to ensure the integration of new systems and the safe disposal of the R22.
