Hager occupancy sensors give more control of lighting
Published:  August 2010
Hager, lighting control, occupancy sensors

A new range of occupancy sensors from Hager offers standard or digital lighting control. They can be surface or flush mounted and also supplied pre-wired. Installation involves pushing the sensor through a ceiling aperture, and reverse springs then hold it in place. A sliding cover on the surface of the sensor allows access to its controls without removing it from the ceiling. The programming system offers sophisticated lighting control using an easy-to-install system.

The digital range will auto detect either DSI or DALI and control up to 24 digital ballasts. They can be used with the company’s Klik lighting distribution system.

These sensors can detect presence or absence. The integral photocell can respond to various light levels, changed to active or passive mode, or turned off.

With presence detection, lights are turned on and off automatically — or they can be over-ridden. With absence detection, lights are turned off automatically, but turned on manually.

If the photocell is set to passive, lights will be held off if there is enough natural light at the time of initial switching. Active will control lights on and off depending on the natural light available. With digital lighting control, the sensor will control luminaires in response to changing light levels.
